Tangkiling National Park at
Kalimantan
Island
Tangkiling
National Park along the Kahayan River near Palangkaraya, has a lot of
endangered spieces of animals, including the Orangutan, clouded leopard
and a lot more. The Traditional Dayak Culture along the Kahayan and her
side rivers as the Katingan River, and the Rungan River with it's dense
jungle, make Tangiling National Park the most completed National Park
for the adventures travelers.
The
Danau Tahai is a blackwater lake, in the verdant
jungle nearby
Mt Tangkiling. Climbing the Mountain you will have a the forest mist
view. Orangutans,
macaques, elusive proboscis monkeys, gibbons and langurs, as well as
several bird species as gliding fish eagles and the curious
hornbills can be found in the park. The
Borneo Orangutan Survival Rehabilitation Center can be visited and
learn you how they try to sustain and rehabilitate this National Park
and it's wild life. The
traditional Dayak village and Culture make it as one of the most
attractive National Parks in Indonesia. From Flora and Fauna to
Traditional activities as hulling rice, carving machete
handles,
weaving rattan mats and bags, to building canoes and drying fish can be
found only at Tangkiling National Park. |
ACCESS
TO TANGKILING NATIONAL
PARK
Several
airlines from cities as Surabaya, and Jakarta connect Palangkaraya city
as the main entrance port for Tangkiling Reserve along the Kahayan
River.
You can reach Tangkiling National Park by boat or motorized canoe by
sailing upstream Kahayan River from Palangkaraya as the Capital of
Central Kalimantan Province.
Severalother attractive destinations can be found upstream the Kahayan
river near the Tangkiling National Park, Jungle, wild life and
Traditional Dayak Culture with old longhouses can be found at the upper
part at villages as Tumbang Malahui, the Katingan River area, Rungan
River area and several other small rivers.
