Wehea Nature
Reserve is a conservation area Park
operated by the Wehea Dayak Tribe at East Kalimantan Province of Borneo
Island. Wehea is the youngest nature
reserve of Kalimantan, the location of the Wehea area is
between Muara Wahau and Tanjung Redep, and a perfect location for those
who like to combine a jungle trip with a leisure or scuba dive at the
nearby Derawan Islands.
Wehea Reserve is 38.000 hectares of Virgin Tropical Rain Forest with
facsinating Wildlife as Orangutans, Lizards, clouded-leopard, and many
bird
species. The dense jungle was protected from the loggers by the Wehea
Dayak tribe over the last centuries, and won an world award for it's
forest protection and management in 2008. Wehea offesr a tropical
forest with more then 60 tree species, and is worth
to visit for those who are nature lovers, while wildlife is hard to
spot in the dense Jungle of Wehea, the Jungle Lodge and jungle trails
give you an ultimate experience of the Kalimantan forest, and it's
wildlife habitat
To enter Wehea a permit is needed, and has to be applied in
advance, the road to Wehea 's jungle is an unpaved slippy jungle road
which need a 4 wheel drive jeep to navigate into the conservation
reserve. Arrangements in advance are needed to avoid
stuck-up, once entering the Wehea area.

Dayak Wehea as
the first Dayak Tribe that entered Borneo, and know as the oldest tribe
of Kalimantan, The Dayak Kayan and Kenyah live in the surounded area of
Wehea which make it a Cultural Place with art and Longhouses as a worth
